How Many Google Reviews Do I Need to Reach 4.5 Stars?

Google shows your rating to one decimal, so to display 4.5 your true average only needs to round to 4.45. How many five-star reviews that takes depends on your current average and how many reviews you already have.

Each new 5-star pulls the average up more when you have few reviews and less when you have many. At 4.2 with 40 reviews a run of straight fives reaches 4.45 after about 20; at 4.3 with 100 reviews it is closer to 45. Fewer reviews means faster movement.

You cannot control what people rate you, and one 1-star sets you back, so the reliable route is steady volume: ask every genuine customer, not just the happy ones.
