Once a customer has left you a review, do not ask again, they have already done what you wanted, and re-asking risks looking like review farming.

For a regular who has not reviewed yet, space it out: ask once, and if they do not act leave months, not weeks, before a light second mention. A healthy profile comes from many different customers, not repeat asks to the same few.
